the poolside braid.

the poolside braid.

a side braid. by the pool.

Your favorite braid bloggers took a girls' weekend trip to Vegas!

Here is one of the braid creations I made for Felicia.
A side braid is perfect for lounging pool-side, showing off the tattoos, and getting a wicked sunburn.

I started this one on the top right side of her head. The I just french braided across the top of her head from right to left. I used large pieces of hair and held them loosely so the braid wouldn't be tight and uncomfy. This one's all about comfort!
I wrapped the braid down by her neck and worked it back from left to right, gathering up the remaining loose hair.

Finish with a side braid and a ponytail! And enjoy the pool-side!

Kisses,

Laura.

Kaa. (or The Snake)

Kaa.

(or The Snake from The Jungle Book)

This was a throw back to Princess Serpentine from one of our first blog posts. But it's updated a bit.Take a look!

I started with making a french braid at her left temple and working it across her head like a crown, including the bangs to make the tiara effect.

Then I wrapped the braid around at her right ear and brought it straight across the middle of the back of her head.
(Note, we just got our Lia Sophia order in today. Felicia got these new earrings!)

I just added a third stretch across the bottom, going left to right again.

I braided the rest of the ponytail and wrapped it under the bottom braid, bobby pinning to stay in place.

TaDa!

pomp with attitude.

pomp with attitude.

this 'do is mo hawk inspired. we used the look from the faux shaved head braid on the sides... and then pomped a mo hawk down the center.

and of course, tied it off with a braid wrapped pony!

i began by sectioning off the middle part. i tied that up and out of the way.
then i made two tight french braids on each side going toward the ponytail base.

once i secured the two side braids, i started back combing the hair in the middle to get as much volume as possible.
to get even more volume on the pomp, i twisted the bottom and secured it with a bobby pin.

then i brought it all together in a ponytail.
i grabbed a small section of black hair from the bottom of the pony and braided it, then wrapped it around the elastic.

hairspray and you're done!

enjoy.

rope royale.

the rope royale braid.

i mastered the rope braid! so, naturally i combined it with a large pomp and french braid.

the look is like a royal princess rockstar rapunzel... with a tiara of hair. boom.

we started with backcombing her bangs *like whoa* and making a very tall pomp.
then i french braided sideways across the bottom from right to left. very loose braid.
then i made the twist, which is really hard to explain, but there is a good tutorial here.

tie it off with a tiny elastic band and hairspray!
gorgeous!

enjoy,

the heart.

the heart braid.

the goal of this creation was making a heart shaped braid. i basically accomplished my goal. please forgive my rudimentary Paint skills as i demonstrate. :)

#oldschool #noshame #legit

i began by separating her hair into a top and bottom half, on a diagonal.

i french braided the top half up toward her bangs, included the bangs, then took a turn into the middle to make the rest of that half of the heart.

the i french braided the bottom half up, mirroring the top half.

i made a giant braid in the middle the heart and curled it into a bun.
topped with a bow!
enjoy!

the scorpion.

the scorpion braid.

a braid inspired by my childhood in arizona, living in fear of finding one of these nasty creatures in a shoe.

this is a nifty take on the fishtail braidread below for a little how-to description.

i began with all her hair straight down. then i separated it into two large chunks, pulling hair from by her ears.

i did essentially a fishtail braid, just on her head instead of in a ponytail.
i stopped at the base of her neck and separated the braid into three pieces. i made a little regular braid. then switched again to fishtail. then back to regular for the end of the braid.

i think it turned out pretty well!enjoy.

race to the finish.

race to the finish.

this is a pinterest inspiration. i added a checkered flag ribbon for our mutual love of racing :) it looks super cool with felicia's two-toned hair since the top half is red and the bottom half is black.

this is essentially half french braid, half regular braid.
i started on the right, grabbing all the hair off her neck.

i tried to keep the braid as loose as possible, so that it would fall in a diagonal.

i just tied the end with a pony elastic and then weaved the ribbon through it!
super easy and really pretty.
