the viper.

the viper.

the inspiration behind this braid "do" is a coiled viper snake, ready to pounce! except, instead of a scary viper head at the center of the coil.. we have a cute hairbow with tiny skulls. naturally.

felicia pomped her bangs to get them back away from her face. secured with bobby pins.

then i started a french braid at her right temple, only taking hair from the top section of her head. i'd save the bottom 2/3 hair for the lower part of the circle.

i braided down the left side of her head and then across the bottom to complete a circle, leaving a circle of hair in the middle.

i braided another little circle inside the bigger circle. once i had everything french braided, i made a regular braid with the rest of the ponytail. then coiled that up inside the inner circle. secured with bobby pins. i put the cute bow in the middle to hide the bobby pins and elastic band.

pony with pizazz

pony with pizazz.

i wanted to make a braid crown... then wrap it up into a ponytail.

i pulled her bangs back in a little pomp. then started braiding at felicia's left ear, french braiding across the top of her head.i only pulled new hair into the braid from the front, so it gave the braid the crown effect. and left the bottom hair for the ponytail.

when i reached her right temple, i made the rest of the hair into a regular braid. secured with a ponytail holder.

then i pulled her hair into a ponytail and secured that with a band. the i just wrapped the loose braid around the ponytail elastic, covering the band, and secured with bobby pins!

princess serpentine

princess serpentine.

this is a look we're calling princess serpentine. because it looks like a snake and then ends in a half-princess leah side bun! naturally.

i started a french braid at felicia's left temple, then worked my way across the top of her head. i included her bangs in the braid and they POOFED up, which looked fun.
i only used a TINY bit of hair from the bottom of the braid so that it left all the lower hair loose for the bottom braid.
i kept braiding across the bottom, using all the leftover hair.
and then wrapped the rest of the braid into a bun, which i secured to her head with a few bobby pins. yay!

knotty.

the knotty knot.

This is the "knottiest" updo you'll ever wear to dinner! :)

Also, it showcased the multi-toned hair perfectly. And Felicia says "it's super comfy!"

I started by vertically separating the hair into three equal parts.
I did a french braid on the two outside pieces, braiding all the way down.

Then I took the middle piece and braided that into a new regular braid, using the outside braids as pieces.

I simply rolled from the bottom of the ponytail up, into itself, until I reached the base of her neck. Secure from the top with bobby pins.

For a last touch, I did a tiny braid with her bangs and pinned them into the right side braid. Then hairspray!

rocker rapunzel.

rocker rapunzel.

this is a style we're calling "rocker rapunzel."

i started with pulling the back half of her hair back. then i began the french braid above her right ear.. working across. she has whispy bangs, so i just included those in the braid. when i reached the left ear.. i started working the braid straight down.

felicia has awesome multi-toned hair, so i was sure to pull some black hair from underneath into the braid. i made a side ponytail with the rest of the hair. when i finished the french braid.. i used the braid as one of three strands in a new braid down her right shoulder. super easy! this style took about ten minutes.

felicia had second day hair.. so the bangs stayed in place pretty well. i would definitely use hairspray to keep the whispy pieces down. enjoy!
